MLB: 2020 ワールドシリーズ　ドジャース優勝（MLB: Dodgers won 2020 World Series)

今年2020年のワールドシリーズは、ロサンゼルス・ドジャース（ナショナル・リーグ）が4勝2敗で1988年以来32年ぶり7回目の優勝を果たしました。　対戦相手のタンバベイ・レイズ（アメリカン・リーグ）も、選手年俸が安いチームながら2008年以来12年ぶりにワールドシリーズに進出しましたが、あと一歩及びませんでした。
In this year’s 2020 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers (National League) won the 7th victory in 32 years since 1988 with 4 wins and 2 losses. The opponent, Tampa Bay Rays (American League), also advanced to the World Series for the first time in 12 years since 2008, but they could not beat Dodgers.

今年のMLBは、新型コロナの影響で開幕が7月23日となり、レギュラーシーズンの試合数が通常144試合のところ60試合にとどまりました。　ポストシーズンは、通常は各リーグの東・中・西地区の優勝チーム＋ワイルドカード1チームの総計8チームで争われますが、今回はワイルドカードシリーズがあったので、出場チームは総計16チームとなりました。
開催地も、2チームの本拠地（ドジャースタジアム、トロピカーナフィールド）での交互開催ではなく、中立地で開催する方式がとられたので、テキサス・レンジャーズの本拠地である今年開場したグローブライフフィールドで全6試合の開催となりました。
This year’s MLB kicked off on July 23, due to the impact of the COVID-19, with only 60 games in the regular season, compared to the usual 144 games. In the postseason, there are usually eight teams competing for the winning teams in the east, middle, and west areas of each league + one wild card team, but this time there was a wild card series, so the total number of participating teams was 16.
The venue was not held at the two teams’ homes (Dodger Stadium and Tropicana Field), but was held in a middle location – Globe Life Field, home of Texas Rangers, which opened this year. All 6 games were held there.

ドジャースは、2017年と2018年にもワールドシリーズに出場するも、ヒューストン・アストロズとボストン・レッドソックスに敗退しなかなか世界一に手が届きませんでしたが、今年ようやく優勝できました。　1988年の優勝時は、オーレル・ハーシュハイザーという絶対的エースがいましたが、今年はクレイトン・カーショー、ウォーカー・ビューラーの2枚看板投手が強力でした。
（試合中に、ジャスティン・ターナー内野手がコロナに感染していることがわかりましたが、そのまま優勝セレモニーに参加したことが物議を醸してしまいました。。。）
The Dodgers stepped up to the World Series in 2017 and 2018, but lost to the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox, making it hard to reach the number one spot in the world, but they finally won the championship this year. At the time of the victory in 1988, there was an absolute ace called Orel Hershiser, but this year the two pitchers, Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler, were strong.
