私の好きなウイスキー（Whiskey that I love)

ビールも日本酒もワインも好きですが、ウイスキーが一番好きです。
中でも、ジャックダニエルは酒を飲むようになってから一貫して飲んでいるウイスキーです。
この時期、ホットウイスキーにしてもおいしいですが、基本的にストレートです。
ジャックダニエルは、テネシー州リンチバーグで生産されています。バーボン、ではなくテネシーウイスキーですね。バーボンの製造工程に加えて、チャコール・メローイングという、蒸留した後のウイスキーをサトウカエデの木炭でゆっくりと濾過する工程が入ります。
ジャックダニエルは、かのフランク・シナトラが愛飲していたことでも有名です。

I like beer, Japanese Sake and wine – but I love whiskey most. Jack Daniel is my favorite, I hardly drink others.
Hot whiskey (hot water : Jack Daniel 1:2) is also good in winter season. My favorite is having it straight.
Jack Daniel is made in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Jack Daniel is not bourbon whiskey but Tennessee Whiskey. It is because “Charcoal Mellowing” is specially processed in addition to production process of normal bourbon whiskey.
And, Frank Sinatra loved Jack Daniel.

次に、今回初めて飲むラフロイグです。
ラフロイグは、スコットランドの西にあるアイラ島にあるシングルモルト・スコッチ・ウイスキーの蒸留所で産出されるシングルモルト・スコッチウイスキーです。　プリンス・オブ・ウェールズ御用達の認定も受けているとのことです。
ピート（泥炭）の香りが強いです。初めて嗅いだ感想は、正露丸？のような香りでした。　しかし、精麦の際の乾燥・香りづけにピートを焚くのが、スコッチウイスキーには欠かせない工程です。

I tried Laphroaig for the first time.
Laphroaig is a single malt Scotch whiskey produced at the single malt Scotch whiskey distillery on Isle of Islay, west of Scotland. It is said that Laphroaig has been certified as a Prince of Wales purveyor.
The smell of peat is strong. My impression of the scent was really like “Seiro-gan”, which is Japanese traditional medicine tablet.
However, burning peat to dry and aroma is an essential process for Scotch whiskey.
